How do you make GIF's work?

I got a bunch of them and I'm not too sure how to make them work. I've tried imgur links in the pic insert option but it isn't working.

If it's an animated gif, you have to open it in a browser, such as Internet Explorer.
Opening them in Paint or Preview or just about anything other than a browser, doesn't animate them -- supposedly this is a security feature.

How come we cant put gif's in our sig lines.

Because image tags are disabled for signatures.
