I use champion targets, the 5 aiming points in diamond shapes. There's actually like at least 10 aiming points I actually use on the target aside from the bullseyes. For printing my own, a sharpie mark on a piece of paper suffices.

I never had a .22 pistol, and went straight to a 45. I think you should get the pistol and calibre you want. There's a million ruger 10/22s out there, it's a fine choice.
