Are proxies OK to use?

Couldn't find this in the rules. Are we ok to use proxies or the tor browser here?
 
You do realize, of course, that by using a third party Tor or proxy, you're simply moving where the logs wind up?

But if you want to, and have one you trust, you go right ahead. No rules against it, and even if there were, they'd be awfully hard to enforce.
 
Just double checking - got in trouble elsewhere for doing it. (Just so you know why I'm asking, not looking to get the tar and feathers out or anything ;) )
 
Carry on, my wayward son. Just make sure you understand what using Tor or a proxy is actually doing or not doing for you.
 
So you want to hide who you are? You got banned 2 days after joining another LARGE group, for poking/hacking around trying to find stuff.

You couldnt even post a welcome in the intro. Like the other group.. WHO are you?

A sure sign someone is either a returning banned user or that they are running multiple accounts is they will try to hide behind a proxy. Using them here is not a good idea. If you have to use one for any reason, let us know that you're doing it and why.

No, I've actually been on the OTHER LARGE GROUP (that shall not be named? O_O) for quite a while. No, I'm not banned there, just got chided for tor use. Thanks for the assumption.

FYI, these forums are blocked on many networks. If I want to get on from any other place except home, I have to use a proxy or tor. I asked if it's going to be a problem specifically because it's not in the rules here, if the mods find my reasons not to be sufficient, so be it.

Bogart is that you? Hmm Joined on the 5th, got banned ( pinked ) for using a proxy on another site on the 7th, Then you show up here on the 8th, no introduction post, Same as other site. Who doesn't join a new site without saying welcome?...... But if your soo worried about proxy then what you got to hide?

Then talk about how you got in trouble for using a proxy on another. Its pretty good assumption that you are the same person.
 
Deploying an open free to use proxy server is, far and away, the best way to conduct a man-in-the-middle attack, evesdrop on a stream or introduce a virus from an apparently trusted source.

Here's a clue: If you are not paying for a product, you are the product.

I joined with out an intro, I think a lot of people do given the member nember to intro threads ratio

Not the first forum I join and my experience is that people do not introduce themselves. First time I saw that was the OTHER forum where it is a requirement for ee.

Then you got into a confrontation with another member, said some real stupid stuff, You got banned from another site and then come here and what you expect not to be caught?
 
Dude, you have no idea how wrong you are, but you obviously have your mind set. If you did better detective work, you'd be able to figure out who I am on the other site. You may apologize when you do.

Dude are for stoners and immature kids.. Because if you admit then you would be banned, so of course you would hide and try and deny. if you got nothing to hide, why are you hiding? Who are you? Why would I apologize? your the one smelling of fish? Guy get banned from using a proxy, the next day another site a guy asking if proxy is ok because got in trouble from a site he wont name.... Why are you being a sketch bag. OH wait both sites refused to post a intro... I smell fish...Whos going to trust you to buy from you.

I'm just trying to protect people from someone that smells fishy.

Did you even read why I use tor? Post #8. I enjoy CGN and I thought I might enjoy this forum. I can't get on here when I'm not home because the network I use blocks this site.

People apologize when they have wronged someone, that's all. I'll let whoever may buy whatever I might have for sale in the future judge me by the content of my posts and make their decisions based on that. I like the word 'dude', but I won't cal you that if you object. <shrug>

Sorry there I said it.. But you smelled of fish. You joined the day after someone got banned from CGN because he used a proxy. Then ask if you can use on here, also said you got in trouble else where for using one. Also both members never posted into a intro. Pretty solid assumption to being the same person.
 
I almost never smell of fish. I smell of horse ... manure regularly - must have been that :)

No worries otherwise :)
 
I had AOL for many years and it worked on a proxie and I found it was due to the server being in the States. I had trouble with it a couple of times with forums.
