As a result we have made most of the content registered user only access with a few exceptions.

Guest access is still enabled for:

GOC Site Rules and Policy
Newbie FAQs
Dealer Network and all sub forums
Manufacturers

All other forums now require registration.

This isn’t 1999. These days, the bots that can do the most damage can also easily bypass registration and verification. Except maybe horsey po po bots made by CGI. Those are still 1999.

I'm starting to see more new members and infrequent members returning to the site now that it's had it's access tightened up - in my opinion that's a win for GOC.

I'm always a little shocked at people posting on the "post your latest purchase " thread, not sure why you want everyone to know what you bought. You might be OK with lagit people on here knowing, but to me it just looks like the bulletin board at the mall, wouldn't post it there, i don't trust any online site, anymore then the bulletin board.
