The Rimfire episode….okay not really…Episode 22 – rimfire, get it? All right, lame we know but there you have it. In this episode we chat a bit of guns and gear and then we have a great interview with Will MacKeigan, QM. The internet let us down a bit and we had a really bad connection with Will but the content was great so we ran with it. Trust us, the content is worth it

Hope you enjoy, and remember, feedback is always appreciated. Send emails to [email protected]. Also, check out and like our Facebook page!

sweet something to listen to tomorrow on the way back from Edmonton ;)

Good Interview-I would be one of those Norc steel case value shooters, basically competing with myself.

I have had a hard time finding projectiles- Right now the only bullets I have are 60g Hornady varmint -basically a match bullet, How significant will this be compared to the 68g match BTHP at a SR match?

Well, the 60 gn bullets you have will shoot a lot better than the 68 gn bullets you don't have.

Honestly, I would not worry about it. Military shooters are using issued 62 Gn green tips. I don't think you will find a lot of difference in ballistics between your bullets and those. I would guess the BCs are very close. If it's your first match, you are going to be on a very steep (but fun as heck) learning curve anyway with way more to worry about than ballistics of your load. There is always time to refine a load with a bullet you prefer more, later.

What I would advise is determining approximate drops for your load out to 500 yards/m so you have some idea of your initial scope adjustments for sighters. It helps a lot if you can at least be on paper to adjust.

This is what I have been using. It's a simple Excel spreadsheet that's FREE! My results have actually been pretty good when entering in actual velocities from my chronograph and published BC values.

Thanks very much for the info and link- I was asking the question based on the comments the gentleman you interviewed made regarding the matches.
