Edited title not changing

Ok, I'll get Jon to take a look, I'm too stupid for that kind of technical stuff....lol

Tried again but the thread title in the menu is still not changing. It does change on the thread itself, but that's not going to help the Mods clear out completed posts.

Let me know we you want me to try again.
 
Strange I tried it in my own thread on the EE and it worked.

Let me try editing your thread and see what happens.
 
you have to make sure you click go advanced, It shows for me

You should have the drop down, when you "go advanced".

When I go into your post I can see it, and edit it accordingly.

Works with my own posts I tried.

It is in the same list that you would choose WTS, or WTB.
 
I don't think it is mod's/admin only as others in other forums were able to select the WTS and WTB.
 
Not getting the prefix. I've been using advanced.

I work with Chrome but I've also checked Explorer, same thing.

If I start another thread I see the prefix now (I'm not sure it was there for the first ones).

Since it seems to be something I've done can you go ahead and nuke the sidesaddle thread and I'll keep a careful eye on any more I post.

ForbesHutton, do you get the option in the other EE sub forums?

Try making one to see if you need, we can just delete it.

Gonna give Jonanddad a second to look into it first.

Might be that if you don't select a prefix when initially creating the thread it won't let you add one afterwards.
 
That seems to be the case. No problem for the regular markplace ads as they would all be WTS or WTB.

Maybe a "free" prefix could be added to the drop down, then "free" parts could be listed in the parts section and free gear would be in the gear section, possible?
 
Well I just did a test thread, starting a fresh thread with no thread prefix in the same forum.

Went back and edited it to change the prefix to "please delete" and it worked fine.

I have deleted the thread for you though.

Strange, to say the least.

Same here, no prefix to be able to change my WTS thread to Pls Remove, same screen as that ^. Yay for not having to take a screenshot, yup I'm that lazy.

Likely has something to do with non staff group permissions.
 
I just tried changing my thread title in the EE - no worky.

The thread title changes in the thread itself but not in the forum list. How are people supposed to know I updated the pictures in my ad ?! ;)
 
Did you click, "go advanced"?

That is the only way to change thread titles.

If it doesn't work let us know.

Yes, from the advanced editor I changed the title and it does show up in the message itself, but not in the forum list.
 
Hum.. I can still see them and change it, Also I made a new ad with our test account and he can change it also... odd
 
Same this was happening with thread prefixes with a few members.

Seems very strange.
 
Add me to the list of guys who can't edit the thread title on their EE ad.
 
I won't delete it, to see if you guys can sort this out.

Strange as I can see every option.
 
Jon it's working for me now, we tested in this forum and in the EE - thread title changes properly.
 
LOKI - try making another test thread.

I will delete it when we are done.
 
Thanks mlehto and those who worked behind the scenes. It's working. Too bad my unobtanium test thread is set for deletion now, I could have gone for that 1 million dollars.

What mlehto and I have found is that threads created prior to the changes they've made can't be edited, but new threads can. Do what I did and try a test thread in the marketplace and report back, you might just have to ask to get that last non-working one removed and be able to edit your own prefix and title in future ads.
 
Try as LOKI suggested.

I am ready and willing to delete any thread u want just ask.
