Took forever to connect to GOC just now, but once on the site seems to be working fast as usual .
 
It seems the hamster that turns the server wheel had unprotected sex with Hitlary Clinton.....
 
I haven't been able to use the forum for a few hours, couldn't even read it,
but it seems fine right now.
 
I had a lot of trouble trying to log in last night (Monday). I gave up in frustration after an hour of trying. Nice to see it back up today (Tuesday).

We found the cause with the server.
DDOS attacks on the server and the site.

Working on more protection.

nice. If it's the russians looking for more emails, let 'em know if we had 'em we'd tell 'em.
 
All, am working on it, had a very severe DDOS attack, we are addressing. Hang in there folks, will get through :)

Still going on but putting mitigation(s) in effect,
 
DDOS.. any suspects?

More security is being added to the site this morning, there maybe a disruption in service.

Against GunOwnersOfCanada specifically, or against the server farm you're hosted upon, or the combination of server strength & the version of forum software you're using?
I know, you probably don't know, and probably never will know, the motivations of the DDos-ers.

I don't think you're sufficiently controversial that the Chinese would attack.

it was directed at our site from my understanding, the server took a hit on all other hosted sites.

We have a front end DDOS protection system now, thanks to Still which helped set it up.

I've been up since midnight drinking coffee and swearing about this issue
 
My guess on the DDoS? BSD has done something epic and his Government friend "Bob" is very upset.

massive DDoS attack last night knocked us completely out, I started working on it at midnight, but really credit goes to Still for the hard work he did to get it sorted out
 
sub domains and mobile access seems to be an issue still i'm working on it
 
Saw a short message that said something like "Checking your browser in case it's a DDos attack on GoC. This message will self destruct in 5 seconds."
 
Got the same on my phone, then went to error 404. Seems to be working now though

The security is on "i'm under attack" setting as we are still getting hit but we are containing it, so you might get a short message then it goes away
 
Whatever is going on,for me the site is loading wickedly fast. Good work guys hopefully the douchebags go away so you can enjoy the weekend!
 
Goodale is about to drop the hammer on gun owners and Wendy suggested CSIS and the Horsemen attack the site so we can't mobilize.

That other gun owner site is awwwwwwwwwwwwwfully slow for me to.

Our club's website was always getting hit with something or another so I asked our service provider to block everything except Canada and the US at the router level. Sure, we don't get any exposure Internationally now but who cares!! Haven't had an issue since.
 
got troubles login in in the last 2 days...on one occasion the site wasn't available with DNS error...
