Earlier today, my avatar was me on the range. Now, it's some sort of black and white AR type image. What happened? How did my avatar get changed?

When I go to my profile, the correct avatar is there, but in the forums, it is the black and white image.

Is it mine? cause harbl was saying he got stuck with my avatar before too. It's PEI's No Compromise logo :p

I never had an issue, avatars have never changed on me.

I see your avatar as a man with his ears on and a cap, I think shooting a pistol, at a range.

EDIT: It was like that. But after I posted it changed to a black and white image of a gun like thing -- with a different URL.

EDIT2: And now it's back to

Does no one recognize PEI?

I see you at the range?

Is the gun like thing an AR superimposed on PEI, lone-wolf?

Why, yes it is yours!

Those who see a guy with a hat and ears shooting a pistol: that is the correct avatar. That's me with my snubby Smith 66.

So, how do I get my actual avatar back?

It's still the same, you at the range, never changed to me.
Must be a server glitch(nothing you did), as harbl said he had the same issue.

great, now everytime I see PEI, I'll think of a feather

Permanent Employment Insurance.

awesome - what's fundamentally offensive in most places is an enshrined cultural issue in others. Only place I've lived in where it was was worse was Newfoundland and Labrador, where they called it a lottery.

It is astounding the hatred here for Harper based on EI reforms alone. You'd think it was a Charter Right to work 6 weeks a year and collect pogey. I near spit my beer out at poker one night when a guy said he made 300K+ in 6 weeks and had to "make do" the rest of the year on EI. Where I live it's easy to spot the 'poor fishermen' - they're the ones with the new trucks, new 4-wheelers, etc. As long as they claim they're used once for the business it's all good.

Man, my father and friends are fishermen. I know poor fishermen and they're not driving new trucks.
We never had an atv, snowmobile, or fun toys growing up. My father was gone for what seemed like weeks a year fishing.
Many have no adapted to work in AB during the winter to make payments that aren't just for interest on their loans.

They're easy to spot here. They're a running joke that I only repeat. At least one of them can be heard running by several times at day just by the exhaust note of his truck - his is the only one in this area comically lifted that doesn't have alberta plates.

I have no issue with fishermen or any seasonal worker, but what I take issue with is people who think that they are entitled to a year's pay even though they don't put in a year's work, because their profession doesn't allow it.

If you catch fish/lobster and you can only do that a few months per year, that's no different than me saying I'm a professional snow shoveler and I expect EI from April-November.

Find something else to do in the off season. If you farm in the summer, do snow removal in the off season.

I've lived in NB for several years and also witnessed the entitlement to EI, based on several generations of expectations. I share Gaidheal's astonishment when people attack the government for daring to suggest that EI isn't automatic, and the onus is on the person to keep trying.

"What do you mean work the rest of the year? My job is seasonal?" Wow.

Okay, so, it appears that I still see LoneWolf's avatar on my iPad, which is what I was using when things got switched, but not on other devices...any ideas on how to fix the problem...?

The government created and nurtured that dependance. I'm hoping that will be reversed.

Ha! Problem solved! Rebooting didn't work, clearing all browsing data etc didn't work, but clearing everything and then rebooting did the trick.

Based on your results, I will never, ever reboot.

Sorry...couldn't resist. :D

I wasn't even sure if our pay grade was high enough to change them. Apparently it is. LOL. It's changed back. Now to mess with Rottweilerboy. :)

Phew! That's good...I don't think I would have been able to eat and then check the forum...
I thought out my options carefully. It came down to either Bieber, or a picture of a scantily clad senior citizen drag queen wearing about 10 pounds of makeup. Bieber seemed worse. :)

Lone wolf I wasn't sure what yours was eathier, I see it now. Angry drunk fry was better.

How do I post an avatar? My compuskills are almost nil and I get confused with simple tasks?:vmad

At the very top of the page (any page)...click on settings
When the next page comes up, look down the list on the left side until you find 'edit avitar' - click on that
On the page that pops up, either enter a web address of a picture you found on the web, or click on the option that says something like "upload from your computer"...there should be a browse button you can click that will link it up so that you can go through the directories/files in your computer....just click on the the file.

He wasn't drunk! He had a 100 cups of coffee in him iirc

You are correct! I thought he was drunk
