In general it's a pretty great community.
There are lots of very knowledgeable people willing to answer questions and help people out. You just have to ask.

There are a few weirdos here that have an obsession with potatoes, feel free to ignore them.
 
I remember the good ol’ days, when all we used to obsess about was bacon…..
 
A mostly peaceful group of gun owners with a range of disorders, those disorders in no particular order of severity include: potato on (in) Speedo crime, AI obsession, unfunny jokes, rambling diatribes, 3 day wars, why did that pepper burn my butt, I bet I can get my reloading cost per round down to free and of course the pariahs who vote a certain way because things will be different this time...maybe. On a positive note we've moved past the best gun for bear defense quagmire. YMMV.

But Camo also forgot a few of us have an obsession with questioning other's political and social obsessions... and somehow at GOC it still remains civil no matter how much we disagree: you don't find that very often on the Internet any more.

You'll notice people's join dates give them pretty good insights related to historical gun related events and our post histories are pretty interesting to delve into, especially if you're newer into guns/shooting...

A lot of us who've been in the sport for 10+ years are a bit... rattled... by what's been going on, but I'd be willing to say we're also the most enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and passionate about the sport and community - despite the present state of things.
