New 'Highlighting' by darkening any topic with a vendor post

I find that the new highlighting by darkening makes is more difficult to read the gray text on the very dark gray bands and may not achieve the desired effect.

I think that it would be easier (for me) if the highlighted Posts were perhaps lighter or a different (lighter) pastel colour. I also think that a special icon or indicator at the Topic level (beside the envelope) would make the interface more readable, rather than making the Topic line dark gray if there is a Post within the Topic from a vendor. If vendors comment on all Topics then the whole UI will be dark gray. If everything is highlighted then nothing is.

The titles are black on dark gray, the other parts are gray on dark grey. I find it more difficult to read the gray on dark gray, and I find light-dark-dark-light-dark-dark-etc. banding awkward to look at. It may be just me. Perhaps it's just old eyes.

The topic actually has nothing to do with North Trail product lines (or any product), but is vendor highlighted simply because of the poster.
Perhaps the vendors need to be able to choose the highlighting for a 'vendor topic'; if everything is highlighted then nothing is.
