because i'm a "good listener" - reposting here.

in terms of not placing all of our fish in one basket, and to reduce some of the friction between the existing canadian gun sites, why don't we list ALL of the gun sites with canadian content in them somewhere on here? so that some newer sites aren't a "big secret", and so that the more established websites are available to our readers. from the multiple sites i am a member of (i only use my CC moniker when i feel i've found a website match) i've seen a lot of the same names and same writing styles of members to know that i'm not the only one heading to different sites for different reasons.

some of us have have formed opinions on the available gun sites, this is true, but if we are truly wanting to be a RESOURCE for shooters it would behoove us to give our readers the chance to make their own opinions.

Very interesting idea! I'd welcome it.

I'd love to see GOC become the destination portal for the canadian firearms community! It wouldn't be a one-stop shop, so to speak, but rather a gateway and directory to the rest of the online world. I think we'll get a good blend of things on here, but some sites are going to have more in depth details on other subjects.

We have talked about linking and banner exchanges with some of the Orgs out there, eg NFA, CSSA, Alberta education and so on.
We haven't yet discussed linking to other sites like were we previously all came from, personally I don't have an issue with it, but the other sites might.

Considering at least one person from here got banned from CGN for PM'ing folks to let them know this place existed I think it would really show that you guys are "the bigger people" so to speak....

I wouldn't care but I don't want to risk any legal action. In time when things settle down and we're recognized as our own brand and having our own focus, we can re-visit that.

For now we are working on getting the orgs on board with us and we also would like to start recognizing clubs and ranges all over Canada. We want to focus on your communities and promote growth from within your own backyards, not other media outlets.

Just my thoughts on it.
