Site Logo Looks Unbalanced...

So I noticed the new logo and thought cool. Looked at it again in the thread about free swag and thought "That black space after the C makes it look unbalanced..." It's just and empty void.

One thought was adding some form of firearm silhouette in red or white. (Please no Glock. Some form of long gun would be preferable.)

Lacking much time to make up for my lack of artistic talent I made an alternate mock up in 2 seconds with *shudders* Paint. Please forgive the roughness:

Not as polished as I'd like but I need to get back to studying.

Just a thought.
 
I wonder what the logo would look like if it had the grey background of the site instead of the white one...

Wouldn't it take all of four seconds in Photoshop? Just take a screen shot and use the eyedropper to get the colour code if you don't already have it...

We are getting it remade to look sharper/better and then it will have a transparent background and we can change the top to any color and it will follow :)
 
Neil, thanks for your input, it's nice to know people actually care about our forum enough to help out!

The logo you did I actually had a similar one done, I think I had about 10 different renderings of the logo above, lol. When we set out to do the logo, the main criteria was simplisitic and streamline. Hence the one line name bar and the basic 3 color, to the point setup.

Right now I have a graphic guy cleaning up the logo and formatting it in a bunch of different layouts. We need a few different formats for the different types of swag and marketing tools we have on the go.

In a couple days, the white bar will be gone and the light grey will be behind the logo, it should blend a lot better and finish off the look we're trying to achieve. I also have a 2nd logo on the go that will be done soon, you will see it used for stickers and t-shirts etc. Actually it will give you the look you are reffering to above....


Over the years I'm sure our look will evolve, for right now the forum layout and the logos we have come up with satisfy our needs and style. Our forum portrays a fresh, clean and more professional look, once all our tweaks are implemented I'm confident you will agree.
