How does one post a youtube link as a url only? Not an embedded video.
This is useful for using the 'start time' ability of youtube to cue up exactly the part of a 1 hour long video.

I tried using [ URL ], and that didn't work. It got replaced with embedded video.
I tried using various urls : youtube.com, youtube.be, etc. They all got replaced with embedded.
I've been using [ noparse ] for a couple weeks, but while people can see the url and cut/paste, you can't click upon it.

Copy the URL, hit the film button, in between the picture and quote buttons, copy and paste the whole URL

That gives me
[ VIDEO ]hxxp s:/ /ww w.y outube.c om/wa tch?v =S2 S5I5GHkDQ[ /VIDEO ]
which I don't want.

What I want is
[ URL ]hxxp s:/ /ww w.y outube.c om/wa tch?v =S2 S5I5GHkDQ[ /URL ]

But when I do
[ URL ]hxxp s:/ /ww w.y outube.c om/wa tch?v =S2 S5I5GHkDQ[ /URL ]

what I get is

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2S5I5GHkDQ

Whereas what I want is to be able do get both [ video ] and [ url ] to work, as shown here :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2S5I5GHkDQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2S5I5GHkDQ

but with the bottom one able to click upon it because it's a [ URL ]

The auto conversion of [ url ] to [ video ] is aggressive, unoverrideable, and not desired.

Yeah, doesn't seem like there is much point in having a "film" button if the "URL" button converts youtube links to video anyway. I have noticed this too.

Unless Jwirecom109 can make a config change, I think we're SOL, RB.

there isn't any plans to do any changes to the coding

It used to work.

Then there was a time that it worked if I used an unusual url in the [ url ]. Might have been a m.youtube or something.

Now I don't know of any variation.

That's fine. As long as you know.

Yeah, this is a recent change. I liked the old way better. The problem is if you just want to show PART of a clip from youtube theres no longer any way to do that - it just posts the whole thing.

Tried to use the youtu.be url and it did the same thing...
