    Search terms no bueno

I was looking to search the site about bill c-51( Hi foxer !) . If I put "C-51" into the search, No hits are returned. Yet I know there are several threads about it.

I didnt have an issue. So.etimes just dropping the hyphen, or specifying title search only helps.

Search "c-51" only. See what you get.

Try "bill c-51" instead. Use the quotation marks.

Uh so nothing came up with the exact search term you used. I offered suggestions and some links, why would I use a search term that didnt work? I used a couple different terms in the same search engine.

I was inquiring about why it didn't work. Not ways to work around it.

Anyways, Apparently it does not like the hyphen. Weird. Windows dealt with that years ago. Bet it doesn't like /\ or : either. "bill c-51" works as the bill generates the hits.

"AR-15" is out too of course.

Perhaps you can contact vBulletin and tell them how it makes you feel.

The search engine works different on this site (At least for me) than other VB forums. I thought maybe it was a site specific issue. Never mind. Friendly bunch you lot !

You sure you weren't on the "other" forum? LOL

Seriously, it is so bad over there. I was searching for something I had posted, and I searched for a particular phrase I knew to be in what I had posted. I made sure to also search only posts by my user name, and set it to look back far enough to catch it. It told me no results found. I did eventually find the post, by going through my subscription list one post at a time. So bad.
