While I thank people for letting us know about slow forum pages, the pile on of complaints without any helpful information isn't needed.

If you are having issues with the forum, we need more data then "it's Slow", at that point your just complaining.

So if something is slow, note what page it was that loaded slow, what browser your using and version, check your internet speed via http://www.speedtest.net/, what time, ect.

That's not helpful. I'm running 45 MBPS and site been slow to navigate recently.

Rather then telling people to do a speed test or deleting threads. Why not give a little explanation on why the site is slower to load and navigate? Sometimes I gotta refresh and still takes 10 seconds to get a topic up.

Just now after doing the test. I hit the back button and took at least 5 seconds for the page to load. Went to click a topic and its been over 10 seconds to load.

1. we are not deleting threads.

2. I need to know the details of the issue, browser, their comparable speed to the site output and what threads they are loading, it may be a thread issue or a user issue.

We do not know why some users are slower than others that is why we need this information for comparison.

Sorry I meant locking.

But still, Im using FF, and with a internet speed of 45 MBPS. This site is slower to load and navigate. With times being from 5 to 12 seconds to load. Now I can rule out the internet speed and browser, as the issue. Because does the same with IE edge. And no issues with other sites. Just this one.

Now all the banners for dealers. Are showing up as broken pictures.

Real brain buster cause it's been working fine for me during all of this. My internet is currently through the cell network though.

I haven't experienced any slow downs at home, work or on my cell. All good for me.

Well, my download speed is 126mbs; don't know if that's good or not. But, I do know that GOC is the only site where I have to wait 5, 10 or 20 seconds for a page to load or refresh. And now, the "what's new" page shows up old school with everything crammed together and almost unreadable.

Oh, and the speed issues occur regardless of where I am and what device I'm using.

What happens if you do a tracert?

what browser are you using if you don't mind me asking.

Doing Several Load tests, it seems that the results are the browsers, users are using for the most part are the issue with load time.
See results below:

These are test sites that use multiple access points from around the world, to record the high, low and average access time, I'm posting the Highest of North America.

Test site 1: Load time - 2.142s Chrome - No errors

Test site 1: Load time - 5.805s - Firefix - Several Errors

Test site 1: Load time - 2.960s - Opera - No Errors

Test site 2: Load Time - 2.1 sec (Chrome) No errors
Test site 2: Load Time - 5.8 sec (IE browners) Several errors
Test site 2: Load Time - 5.4 sec (Firefox) Several errors
Test site 2: Load Time - 1.7 sec (Opera) No errors
Test site 2: Load Time - 2.1 sec (Android operating browser) No errors

Results are saying that if your using Firefox or EI, there are errors that are stopping from loading the site quickly.
These are not errors with the site, but compatibility of the browsers to the site.

You have have had good access before, as browsers change settings in their software this can affect some of the sites you use.

GOC has always recommended using Chrome for using our site. Users are welcome to use whatever they want though.

The site works perfect for me . I use Bell Fibre Op , with Chrome browser........:Beer time:

It might depending on what version of Vbulletin they are running.

We keep ours up to date, and some browsers don't update right away

Well to be honest. This site was the slowest using the same browsers. Using youtube, FB, CGN, CAF and other forums. There wasn't 10 second loading times.

But since fixing the un secure issue. The site has been faster.

I'm using Chrome. But as of just now, I've been able to move seamlessly between pages within a thread, but, opening a new thread or going to a new page still takes 10 or 15s to load.

I'm in Ontario. How does one do a "tracert"?

I am having issues today also, I use and have tried both Chrome and Opera and both have the exact same issue. I did not have this problem yesterday until around 10:30 pm, when I turned my desktop off. The problem stated this morning when I powered up my computer at around 8:30 am. My issue is as follows

The main page loads fast and displays correctly:
Correct Format.png

If slect the "What's New at GOC" tab, the page takes 5 to 10 seconds to load and displays incorrectly:
Incorrect format.png

Wile the displays is wrong, the search only takes 0.03 seconds, if I click the last message icon (>>) for any of the threads on this page, the resultant page is correctly formated but take 5 to 10 seconds to load.

A week or so ago I had similar issue with speed and formating but they automagically correct themselves!

All a mystery to me :)

UPDATE: Interestingly, I only have the above issue if I use the "What's New at GOC?" tab, if I go from the main page to any forum/thread all is well!

Maybe it's linked to ISP providers?

I'm on Firefox/Telus, everything just flies along fine.
